ThunderBird: One High-Flying Bird

The Absolute Sound's Neil Gader tested our ThunderBird speaker cables and interconnects in two very different systems — one active, one passive — using distinct speaker systems and amplifiers. Yet, despite the many interesting variables, the results were consistently outstanding.

Neil Gader admired our cables' "rock-steady neutrality," "expressive and continuous" top end, and remarkably spacious soundstaging.

While these are important aspects of sonic quality, the ThunderBirds' effect on music and the listening experience were perhaps even more alluring.

"More difficult to explain," Gader writes, "was what I didn’t see coming — a response to familiar music that bordered on the emotional... ThunderBird seemed to saturate the stage with greater musical color, from darker resonances to brighter, sunlit harmonics. My enthusiasm for listening to music was raised to new heights."
