Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Inventory Analyst’s primary role will be to reconcile inventory against incoming shipments. This will involve updating the cost of product parts to account for all materials, ensuring that The Quest Group is able to accurately set products’ prices based on their total cost. The Inventory Analyst’s secondary role will be to review our largest customers’ forecasts and compare those forecasts to existing inventory levels, product run rates, and open purchase orders. With this information, the Inventory Analyst will make fully informed recommendations for additional purchases.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter incoming shipments into our Enterprise Resource Planning system
- Adjust and maintain inventory value by accurately assigning products’ material costs, packaging costs, import duties, and transportation costs
- Reconcile metal costs against product inventory per specific product
- Review weekly forecast data from Best Buy / Magnolia and DISH Networks to determine if additional purchases of key products is warranted
- Assist in the monthly inventory review to highlight products in need of ordering
- Assist in tracking inconsistencies in physical inventory versus electronic records
- Track open purchase orders and provide updates for expected ship dates
- Assist in the development of a vendor tracking report to improve The Quest Group’s understanding of vendor performance
- Provide reliable information about product availability to Sales Support team
QUALIFICATIONS
- High-level expertise in Excel
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Resource Systems
- Highly analytical with ability to see trends and make recommendations based on insights
- Attention to detail, especially when making transactions
REQUIREMENTS
- Two to four years related experience or equivalent
- High school diploma required, college degree a plus
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and an eagerness to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Compensation and Benefits

Physical Requirements
- Sitting: Must be able to sit for a minimum of 2 hours
- Walking: Throughout the facility on an as-needed basis
- Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
- Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs
- Talking/Hearing: Must be able to effectively communicate on the telephone
- During inventory count times, we may need this individual to be able to assist in the physical count of products/components
Hours and Location
- This full-time position is based in our Irvine, CA headquarters.
- Monday-Friday, flexible schedule 8am-4:30pm (includes 30-min. lunch)
