During this wide-ranging conversation with Stereophile’s Ken Micallef, Bill discusses his personal audio journey, the history of AudioQuest, and several topics close to his heart, including evaluation methodology, the interpretation of sensory information, the significant joys that come from emotional vulnerability, and the weakest link fallacy.

Bill says, “There is no ‘weak link’ in hi-fi. You can change anything in an audio system, and, if you do less damage, the sound is better; if you do more damage, the sound is worse — no matter what link in the system you changed. The idea that ‘a chain is only as strong as its weakest link’ is an absolute truth for a chain. It is an absolute lie for a hi-fi.”
